    • Obit: MRS. GEORGE E. BYE PASSES IN 81 ST YEAR MRS. George Bye resident of the village of HOLSTEIN for over 50 years. Passed away at the home of Mr. and Mrs Herb Lamont Mount Forest on Sunday December 18. she was in her 81st year. Born in Egremont township, Mrs. Bye was the former Elizabeth Kennedy, daughter of the late Martin Kennedy and his wife Charlotte E Greenley, in 1901 she married George E Bye, who predeceased her in 1944. They moved to Holstein in 1909, Mrs Bye and daughter, Mary , had resided with Mr and Mrs Lamont for over a year. To them were born two children, Mary who survives, and one son, Martin, who died in 1929. Four brothers also predeceased her, namely, James, Edgar, Martin and Levi. Mrs, Bye was a member of the Holstein United Church and took an active interest in church affairs until sickness in the home prevented her form doing so. The service was conducted by Dr. A.F Lavender of Mount Forest United Church. Interment was in Mount Forest Mortuary and burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery in the spring.
